The remote tower system is a latest and advanced technology, and is operating as a supplementary to the traditional tower management system. High speed network and video surveillance sensor could be used as the airport surface surveillance unit. All surface control related data and information could be transmitted to the remote-control center, which can be used to fill the blind spots of existing tower surveillance, and reduce the construction cost of traditional tower in airports with small air traffic flow. One remote control center has the capability to control multiple airports to improve air traffic control resource utilization efficiency.
